Welcome...little girl!

Ralph and Kara had a new little baby girl....her name is Olivia Sanne Deters. She was born on February 27 at 1:30am, weighing 9lbs 5 oz and 56 cm long!! She is proud new addition to our ever growing family! And Sienna is pretty excited to have another little girl to hang around with. It may be a little while before they can play now, but they will have a lifetime to share together! Here are some pics of the newest little Deters'.Olivia peacefully asleep in her swing...precious!

Proud Uncle Scott with the 2 girls!

Sienna looks pretty excited! There is 9 months difference between these 2 and you can definitely see that! Can't wait till they start playing togetether!

Olivia has a bit to catch up to these three!
Before you know it we'll have to try to squeeze in one more little bum into the tub...or maybe we'll have to seperate the boys and girls so there is more room to play!!

Our House is For Sale!!!

Our house is for sale......and I have to remind myself to breath.....

No one ever told us that selling your house would be so emotional. I have been sick to my stomache for a week, just thinking about it going on the market and Sunday night I thought I was going to pass out from anxiety. I am a bit particular shall we say, about everything being perfect (it runs in the family). I also want someone to love the house and appreciate it as much as we do. This house has a lot of memories tied to it for us....this is the first house Scott and I ever bought, we got married out of this house, got pregnant for the first time (and second), brought Brody home here and Sienna too. We moved into this house in January 2003 as an engaged couple with our dog Max and 2 cats Lucy and Daisy. We will be leaving this house as a couple married for 5 1/2 years, now with a son and daughter as well as our beloved Max, Lucy and Daisy. Our family has grown in this awesome little house and a part of us will remain here forever...

So here's to hoping that someone else will fall in love with our house and start their own memories here, just as good as the ones we have...

Here's the mls link if you want to check it out (MLS # c3365168)

Busy Busy Busy

Life is just about as busy as it gets...the kids are growing like weeds, Scott has been super busy at work and getting his courses done, we are almost ready to list our house and the new house is in full building mode! It is an exciting time and a busy one! Here are some pics over the last month...

Back to Baby Days?

With all the "big boy" changes Brody has had over the last few months, it's no wonder he is maybe looking for a little time back in his baby days....
June - becoming a big brother to little Sienna
September - his soother was suddenly broken and there was no replacement
October - he made his transfer into a 'big boy' bed and said goodbye to the crib
November - had his 2nd birthday (officially entering the ~terrible~ twos!)
December - started potty training and took to it very well, becoming a potty master in 2 weeks and even now trying to "pee like daddy" (although mommy is holding back on that one to avoid any 'aiming mishaps' for the time being)
Last Week....
One morning I awoke to the sound of Brody's voice..but it was different somehow....trying to decipher this at 6:30am was difficult...but...yep...wait a sec....I'm pretty sure that I hear him through Sienna's monitor....
What could he possibly be doing in there THIS early in the morning???

Well he decided to venture into Sienna's room (while she was still sleeping at 6:30 AM) and climb into bed with her...
He very carefully crawled over her and layed next to her under the covers and turned on her Ocean Wonders. When I came in the room and turned the light on I said "Brody, what are you doing?" To which he replied "I sleep with Sienna, Mommy, and play her music..."
I called for Scott to grab the camera so we could take a couple pics before I took him out. We'll see how he feels about this one when he's 16.....heehee
But at least for the time being we need to find a way to keep him out of Sienna's room while we are sleeping since next time he might lay on her or something....any suggestions?

Christmas Day 2008

Christmas morning was a blast this year. Brody woke up and came in our room to get us. We told him Santa had been here and he was very excited to go downstairs and see all the presents. He was 'wowed' by the gifts under the tree and then proceeded to say "I watch Treehouse, Mommy". ---no interest in gifts at all! So we showed him his stocking and he saw there were some small wrapped gifts in there too. He decided he would "put them under the tree and save them for tomorrow". We got a good laugh from him. With a little bit of coaxing he started opening gifts and really had fun....Treehouse was not even mentioned again! Sienna, although oblivous to what was going on, had a fun time too, and Scott and I really enjoyed it!

(Excuse the early morning photos of us in our jammies!)

We then went to my Mom and Dad's for Christmas Part 2: where we opened more gifts and had a wonderful dinner with all the Deters'. We spent the day there and it was a great day! We played some games after the kids went to bed and stayed late. 2008 was definitely a good Christmas!!

SANTA!!!!

We went to the mall to see Santa on Friday...Brody was beside himself! He was so excited to see him and kept on saying, "I uppie with Santa!" He sat on his lap and they had a good little chat. Sienna was indifferent, although I'm glad she didn't find him scary and start to cry. She just kept her eye on me, making sure I wasn't going to leave her there! It was a good visit with Santa. Only two more days and he will be visiting our house...

Sinterklaas...the adult version!

Sinterklaas for the adults!!
After the kids were asleep in bed, we started our own Sinterklaas tradition...
We pull names every year and make a rhyme and a craft for that person, accompanied by a small gift. The results were as follows....
Kara had Paps, she made him an IPOD, complete with sudsy insides(shaving cream) and a little Mexican tune when you opened it! A Starbucks gift card and Tiesto CD for a gift!

I had Scott this year, and I made him a ping pong table, since that became his past time on his course in Banff in October for 2 weeks, and all he kept saying was that he wanted one!
A Timmy's coffee mug and some dress socks as a gift!

Scott had Mams, he made her a walker...since she always seems to be in pain with her bad knee and back. A little help getting around is always nice!!! It was complete with a basket on the front, deflective flag, and of course a dutch licence plate! A Tommy shirt and nail accesories were her gift!

Wow, does she ever look like her sister Jose in this picture!

Mams had me, and since we will be trying to sell our house in the new year to move into our newly built one, and the market is not exactly a sellers market... Mams thought we could use a little help.... so here's a mini of our house with the whole family pitching in to help sell it!
Even Kara and her baby belly are giving their best on the front lawn!
Some fuzzy ear muffs from Holt Renfrew were a nice warm gift!

Paps had Ralph, and made him a nice......portable sh#@*r ! This will come in handy for camping!! It was complete with sh#@ ! (That will have to come out and be cleaned) Of course it was not real, but Ralphie had to fish through it to find a note of where his gift was hidden. His bonus prize...a snow shovel!!

Ralph had Kara, he made her a giant pot of belly butter, (which Kara lavishly puts on every night before going to bed to keep her beautiful pregnant belly well greased) and she had to also dig for her clue (it was ALL JELL-O). She got a mini dipper crock pot and DVD.

All in all, we have a very fun evening, Sinterklaas has come and and gone, but we all look forward to it again next year!!
