Brody managing a smile despite the IV tube and oxygen/heart rate monitor attached to him.
Dad spent lots of time with his little man too!
Even Oma came in to let us have a break and give Brody a bath! He was a little weirded out by the big bag on his arm to protect the IV from getting wet.
We just had a bit of a scare with our precious little Brody. He had developed some rash looking spots on his legs along with a fever. So to the advice of the Calgary Healthlink (GREAT resource) we took him into the Alberta Children's Hospital. To our surprise and very unexpected of course, they asked to admit him and perform a bunch of tests as there was a chance he might have meningitis. Scott and I were floored! After a
very emotional 4 day stay at the Children's Hospital along with lots of poking and prodding at Brody (he had blood tests ran, a spinal tap, an IV and a heart rate monitor on his toe)the tests came back negative for any bacterial infection and we got to take our little angel home. Ended up that he just had a basic viral infection, nothing major, but they were glad we came in to get it checked out. So we were sent home with some additional antibiotics and Brody was quickly back to his old self. It definitely scared us a lot to think that something could happen to our little boy beyond our control! We are just happy to have him home again and I am definitely happy to be sleeping in my own bed, as is Scott, and catch up on some much needed sleep!! As you can see by the pictures, Brody did pretty well in the hospital as he still managed to get out some smiles. What a trooper!!!
